Schakal FC
Division 1a, Hattrick League

So here I am, in the Hattrick league for the first time, with probably one of the worse teams in the whole division. 6 players only, all easily sackable, and only 8 million. Why am I here when it would have been a lot easier to stay with the Brutez.

I'm sure a lot of you would have played Football Manager back in the day. I was never one to take a job with Liverpool, Man Utd or Barcelona. I selected someone down in league 2, or a Spanish team in the depths of a regional league. My favorite was when my local non-league team were introduced into the game, buying players from scratch, free transfers and the like with no money or budget. Getting them to the Premier League was the challenge, and the sense of accomplishment when it was achieved was great.

That's why I moved jobs. But why this team? If you are going to go to a rubbish team it needs a bit of reasoning. Schakal IF were the first-ever winners of the Xpert Champions League. They won it again too, and the Hattrick league on a couple of occasions. This is Xpert royalty and one I couldn't let be deleted.

It's going to take a long long time to restore them to their former glories. And will the game still be around? But my favorite aspect of this game is buying bargains, developing them and moving through the leagues so there is plenty to keep me occupied for a few seasons yet.

And what of my old team the Brutez? I see they have 7 applicants already, and I hope they go to a manager who can build them into the team that deserves some silverware. They are getting there, probably a few more decent signings and a better tactical manager and I can see them in the top division soon. Good luck to whoever takes on the role and I will be watching them closely.
