Whilst it was always going to be a difficult ask, Janes Addiction went out of their Cup semi-final against Van Helsings via the dreaded penalty shootout last Saturday. Whilst he won't hold anything against his girls' efforts throughout the match, and their seemingly faltered performance in the shootout, Manager LFC73 did throw a few questions at the nature of the game:
"How can a team that is not even prepared, with no playmaker, no one targeted, no win bonus (I won't mention how much I offered), and reduced to 10 players just before normal time ends get through this?
"Six solid chances to one, and we're forced into extra time! I won't even get into the disallowed goal early into the second period of ET, but I have to question just what the hell goes on in this game sometimes!
"But my congratulations to VH, and to Pepita's Team from my division, may the best team win on Saturday. We'll take our consolation League title and move on to next season where we have to make a serious bid for promotion to the top division.
"With that in mind, I'm fairly certain I'll be opting out of the Cup very early in an effort to reduce forms drops, injuries and save on finances!"
