Bucks Revolution
Division 3a, Super League
Manager: CM1991
Disappointment, but the fight continues
Division 3A played host to a top of the table clash this week, as this hotly contested league continued to excite both fans and pundits alike.

Favourites for the league - Lightnights, hosted a Bucks Revolution team who perhaps had not expected to find themselves in second place this far into the season, and especially not one point off the League leaders. Despite this unforeseen situation, they were unbeaten since week seven, whereas lightnights had lost the previous week to an unfancied Greenpole FC (admittedly resting a few players).

The game commenced, and from the off Revolution were on the back foot. The deadly combination of the League's leading goalscorer Eddie Cox and his dynamic midfield put the competent Bucks defence under immense pressure, and it only took two minutes for the duck to break, with Giovanny Chiesa scoring a close range effort.

Things only got worse for Bucks, as twenty third and twenty seventh minute strikes from Cox and Manjerona put the away side in an almost insurmountable position. Despite registering a decent amount of shots, CM1991's team could not claw back at the deficit created in the first half hour, and slumped to a 3-0 loss. In truth they were comfortably second best to a dominant side who have given themselves a four point cushion with only three games remaining in the season.

CM1991 was more upbeat than expected in the post match press-conference.
'Yes, we lost and we lost convincingly. Lightnights have given themselves a decent cushion and, although they don't have the easiest run of games coming up, they'd have to drop significant points for us, or Lokomotiv Sparrow to win the League. What everyone is forgetting however is that whilst the title might be just too far out of reach, we are still sitting in second with a chance to get to Division 2 through the playoffs. It's not a guarantee but we need to keep working hard to give ourselves a chance at moving up.

Perhaps the League title was won today, but the race for promotion will likely continue to the final week. The impressive Lokomotiv Sparrow continue their rise under new management and, with only three games to go, sit one point behind Bucks. They play Lightnights next week in a game that CM1991 will watch with great interest. He will be hoping his team can overcome Wolves Wanderers and solidify their second position...

All to play for with three weeks to go!
