Heartbreak for the Lochies

A very disappointing 2-1 play-off defeat to A-Lagarna means North Lochs stay in Div5 for another season. An earlier loss to the Marksmen was the only league defeat this season but was enough to knock the Lochies off the top spot. Despite a 7-0 thrashing of Vasca and another toothless performance in a 1-1 draw with Jeju, the Lochies finished in 2nd place; 2 pts behind the Marksmen so entered the playoff. An uncharacteristic mistake by GK Moretti let Lagarna take an early lead and despite a quick equaliser from Murray it was a poor performance from the team and Lagana scored a deserved winner in the 2nd half. So Div5 again for the Lochies but there was a good change report to be had, Moretti getting a double boost and other single increases for Garnman, Ekiza and Collinge in defence; Walker, Mendonca, MacEnroe and Buchan in Midfield then Hewitt and Pelczar were boosted up front. Off-season training for the squad now with rumours of a big money defensive transfer in the works. We will report on that next time.
