Penguins come up short
Well, what can I say about Season 63? It ended up being a campaign where the Penguins had our highest ever finish in the Final League pyramid as we placed 2nd in what was a very competitive league.
I will be honest, when watching our final game of the season against Pannben United and seeing that we had managed to win this game, I was expecting to see our name up in lights as champions as I fancied CF Infrastructure at least getting a draw from their game which would have been enough to swing the table in the Penguins favour.
However it wasn't to be in the end, and it was a tough pill to swallow for a day or so as I feel that was quite possibly our only opportunity to win the league with an aging team. Relying on other teams to do you a favour is not the most ideal of positions to be in, but I hoped for the best.
With this now behind us, attention shifts quickly to the new season. Looking at my squad, I intend to stick with my current group of players for this season before starting a rebuild next season. So if we are to go down next season, then lets go down swinging and give it our best effort for the new season and see where that takes us.
