We took the title by the skin of our teeth, edging it on goals scored only. Going into the final round of fixtures, we had a three point lead, and a 5 goal difference lead over our nearest rivals, VFB Buttfart. We also had a 3 point lead and 6 goal differences lead over the team in third, who we would be playing, Narcos Team.
VFB's defeat meant we were never in danger of dropping to third, but when we went three goals down against Narcos, it was looking dicey. Going very defensive didn't really work for us in this case, but trying to give our youth GK some minutes was probably what cost us.
As it was, the 6 goal swing wasn't quite enough for us to drop a position, so we're headed to division 2 next season. Which is nice.
