A numbers game
Another promising performance in the league lead to defeat for Thanington Harriers in their match against Murphy Goldhawk. With just one win in six, Harriers are precariously placed just a point above the relegation zone.
"We've let ourselves down with the lack of quality in front of goal." Hammerfisted admitted to the gathered press. "We certainly created enough chances to win the game, but they scored from their only shot and we missed all of ours. Football is a numbers game. Mainly the numbers in the goals scored and goals conceded columns. We've not been terrible this season, but after coming so close to promotion last season it's been a little disappointing to see how far off the pace we are this time around."
Cup progression has rewarded Harriers with a fourth round tie versus 10th seed The Boogie Knights.
"Meeting such a strong team relatively early on in the cup is a little daunting but we'll be aiming to win in and progress again into the next round," Hammerfisted commented when asked.
