| Atlin clinches promotion spot! |
In an absolute nail-biter of a finish, Atlin manages to take the season from decent, to splendid!
Last weekend we pushed back the strong Glenn boys on their own field, and won 0-1 after a strong performance. That meant we passed them from third to second spot, and as such stole the qualifier from right under their nose!
Earlier today we played our qualifier, and that, too, ended up being a very exciting affair!
Atlin was quickly (and surprisingly, I must say!) 2-0 down. At that time it looked bleak. But the Team never stopped believing!
Atlin managed to get the important 2-1 before half-time, and at that point, it felt likte the momentum was about to shift... And it did!
Atlin came out stronger in second half. Kept solid pressure, which eventually paid off! The ever so important 2-2, only 15 minutes from the end!
But hey, Alin was not done there! The dominance continued, and 3-2 was just waiting to happen... And so it did... Minute 91 - Sweet relief!
That means that Atlin Alpine advances through Division 2 in their first season. Looking at the start of the season, a surprise I must admit. But also, in the end, well deserved looking at the stats.
So, for the first time ever, Atlin Alpine reaches Div 1... Exciting times up ahead!
