Knights of Cydonia FC
Division 5:21, Ultimate League
Manager: TheAPERSON
Mass exodus as Operation Warchest begins
Knights of Cydonia had a decent Change Report with the older players retaining their skill, the mid aged players and youngsters improving and Dominique Matthys getting a double jump. Immediately after that though Aperson told his players that he would not be offering any of them new contracts and that because of the relegation the team must go their separate ways to allow for the rejuvenation of the team.

Everyone was getting sold and Aperson would bring in an entirely new squad to contest the new Division 1b season with, but none of them were skilled players or youngsters except for two.

Rafael Martin Vazquez, Darwin Lupi, Folkert Kokmeijer, Alanzo Baroja, Henry Langmore, Mieciu Pawlik and Florêncio Carvalhosa all joined on the same day dramatically increasing the size of the squad. Then, young goalkeeper Hugo Christiansson was signed.

Then five players were sold, Severino Motta and Dani Massa both left for EsatBaba F.C. Roberto Mora joined his fourth career club in IS Emtrana, Daniel Urs joined Phoenix F.C. and Gicu Elen joined Bubbaklubba.

Then, Sid Godden was promoted from the youth academy and shortly after that the signings of Mauro Folha, Frederick Keegan, Markel Amorbieta, Victor Chifor and Harry Powys.

Erik Giddins was sacked as, while most of the squad agreed to be sold, Ivan Draganescu wanted to remain at the team so he will act as the backup. A very highly skilled backup but a backup nevertheless.

Then today, Silvio Sbaccanti joined FC Pungspark, Bert Sällqvist joined Zidanes, Adri Pauwe joined Deth Roses, Barry Gifford joined Xpert Boys and Valentin Bagritsky joined Barca.

In the space of just over a week there has been a massive turnover of players and three more are set to be sold after the first game of the season.

So here are the squad numbers for the new look Knights of Cydonia FC. Though Lagergren, Matthys and McGillvray are being sold they are still on this list because they are part of the squad when the season starts.

1 Ivan DRAGANESCU
2 Sid GODDEN
3 Matts LAGERGREN
4 Florêncio CARVALHOSA
5 Henry LANGMORE
6 Frederick KEEGAN
7 Mieciu PAWLIK
8 RAFAEL Martin Vazquez
9 Folkert KOKMEIJER
10 Mauro FOLHA
11 Victor CHIFOR
13 Hugo CHRISTIANSSON
18 Alanzo BAROJA
21 Darwin LUPI
23 Harry POWYS
25 Markel AMOREBIETA
55 Dominique MATTHYS
99 Campbell MCGILLVRAY

The team now looks like an average 6 side, it's clear that this isn't your typical rebuild that's for sure! While the DV gains are huge in this division, the rush into the second team kind of hamstrung us in the long run as well as wanting the old team to transition into the new one.

But this third team will be built with a clean slate, severing connections to the second team in order to build something far greater.

We know what we lacked last time and there is a very clear plan as to how we're going to be going about it this time around even if the decisions here might seem a bit strange... it's going to take a while OK?

We may elaborate further later on, some managers have probably already figured out what we're doing.
