The importance of age

This incarnation of Orientals has focussed on bringing through a group of players at roughly the same age, and we are doing OK. But although the squad is at its notional peak, we are hardly sweeping all before us. In contrast, the cup was won three seasons ago with a mix of players in their early to mid 30s accompanied by a solid core of 25/26/27 year olds. And even a cursory glance at the stats suggests that the top players tend overwhelmingly to be around the 31-34 mark. How best to get a large quantity of these in the team without compromising team performance is a puzzle we are unsure how to solve.
