Swans up for the fight |
The Staines Swans have produced a remarkable turnaround in form to take their relegation battle to the wire.
After scoring just 4 points from their opening 8 games, they now have 11 points from their last 5 to give them a hope, having secured brilliant home wins against each of the top 3 in the meantime, playing a huge part in the title race which has also now gone down to the final game.
The Swans are currently 5th knowing a win is enough, yet a draw probably isn't, and play bottom side Eastlanders who can achieve safety with a win in front of their own fans on the final day.
Can the Swans continue this good run and set themselves up for a playoff push next season, or will it all come to an end with a whimper next Tuesday evening?
Good luck also to Gwernfadog, I didn't want to ignore them but they have nothing to play for (although 3rd place I suppose comes with a small prize fund, so there is that)
In other news, ahead of next season, a long overdue team relocation and name change may be incoming, as the manager is fed up of commuting to Staines more than 2 years after moving back to Hampshire, so watch this space (if I remember..... And decide to uproot these heroes).
