The Fifth Column
Division 4o, Power League
Manager: Woodstock11
Last day spectacle awaits
It will come down to the wire for who becomes the next division 4o champion as both The Fifth Column and the Jamaican Lions win their respective games earlier today.

The Fifth Column managed a well deserved 1-0 win over Polar Bears. The bare minimum but the Five Points club did have the upper hand in Hell's Kitchen stadium throughout the whole 90 minutes.

"We are thrilled. We took some risk especially lining up a still injured McKenzie. But he is such a class striker...we needed him! Besides him needing the match time anyhow as his broken arm meant quite the setback for his development. The 1-0 means we keep our two point gap over the Lions and we will be crowned champs if we can hold on to a draw at least next week."

The number one and two will in fact be lined up in a head-to-head Championship fight next week. Whilst the Column has the two point gap, The Lions do play at home and they also have a bit more experience age wise. That and the Fifth Column will be missing one of its key midfielders due to suspension.

"We played the Lions 15 times already. Won seven and drew four. So we think we have a shot. It will be a tense and difficult match though for sure. We will go out to win and claim our 8th division title! Which would be pretty special with a team 22 years of average age!"

Even if The Fifth Column loses next week not all would be lost as they still will finish second and have a shot at promotion in the play offs. Which would also mean extra development. So either way it is all fine!

"Yeah yeah... The Natives, Dead Rabbits and Bowery Boys... They all expect just the medals... Or else... So we better just finish the season were we sat throughout, in the the top spot!"

So celebrations and party hopefully next week. Then a well deserved vacation at the cozy island of Alcatraz. With very reasonable development values throughout the squad and hopefully a nice report dripping of blue ink delivered to manager Woodstock.
