Old Salt sunk in second half surge |
Ahoy there, me hearties! Old Salt mascot and superfan Salty the Pirate here to tell ye all about the latest match of Old Salt in the Super League. The match was a real barnacle-buster against Rilindja, with both sides battling it out like true buccaneers on the high seas.
Old Salt started the match with a right bang, with Varei El-Nenny firing a shot straight into the back of the net, thanks to the savvy assist of João Pedro Azeite. The crowd went wild, cheering and waving their Jolly Rogers high in the air.
But Rilindja wasn't about to take this lying down. They fought back hard, with Roger Mullen scoring a goal of his own, assisted by Kenny Evans. The score was tied up 1-1, and the match was well and truly on.
Old Salt wasn't one to give up, though. They kept fighting, and their perseverance paid off when Bernie Collins headed in a goal after a corner, assisted by Ossian McGrath. The crowd went wild once again, with Salty himself shouting "Shiver me timbers, what a goal!".
But Rilindja wasn't done yet. They fought back hard, with Ergün Pembe scoring a goal in the penalty area, assisted by Yassir Al-Baghdadi. The score was now tied at 2-2, and the tension was thick enough to cut with a cutlass.
In the end, neither team could break the deadlock, and the match ended in a draw. But what a match it was! Old Salt fought like true pirates, with every player giving it their all on the field. They may not have come away with the win, but they sure made their mark on the league.
Until next time, me hearties! Salty the Pirate signing off.
