AFC RETURN TO THE TOP TABLE!
After an incredibly competitive season in Division 1a AFC Phoenix managed to hold on to top spot and finally return to The Xpert International to complete manager Gareth Phoenix's promise that he would build a team that could return after being relegated in season 59. Phoenix went on to rebrand his whole club from the then "Gentlemens Practice" franchise to their original AFC Phoenix name and invested in young talent that he could mould into a team that could return to the top table whilst sacrificing his legend laden yet aging squad...

Phoenix: It's just incredible... I've said we could do it and I even said when these guys were in their teens that they had the potential and as a unit and club on the whole we've done it! I'm just incredibly proud of the lads who have remained focused and driven every season and continued learning and improving.

The season ironically wasn't one of our best results wise as we lost four matches and somehow still managed to finish top and I've heard pundits and rivals call us lucky. Well the same pundits and rivals don't mention that we won more games than anyone in the league or that two of the games we lost we were easily the better side and by some way too, yet still came away empty handed I. What most would call freak results.

So we now have to look forward and to the immense challenge ahead at the top table which is laden with insanely talented teams. This will be the hardest season for the lads and they can not make any mistakes because it will get punished and we could easily find ourselves straight back where we've just come from.
