Working to get back on track & top 200! |
The whistle sounded at the end of the latest Division 4n matchup as Sniper's Edge was able to secure a solid shutout win against Rolling Thunder, adding another 3 points to the division leading squad in their push to return to the top flight.
The squad from The Edge came into this match with high hopes as their opponents currently reside at the bottom of the table with only two goals to their name. While the first half only saw a single goal scored by Sniper's Edge, the 2nd half began with more of the same as Rolling Thunder only had defense on their minds. Unfortunately, this meant that the ball remained on their half of the pitch, allowing Sniper's Edge to have favorable positioning to counter from, and counter they did as in the 87th and 89th minute they struck gold on two of their three shots on goal. The final whistle blew with Sniper's Edge taking a solid 3-0 victory.
The manager addressed the press after the match.
"These types of games may seem one sided on paper, but one can never be too careful. A team that is at the bottom of the table can be a sneaky upset candidate, especially against a squad near the top. They always seem to play with a bit of extra fire against us as they know it would make for quite the silver lining on an otherwise difficult season. I know that's how I would play it were I in their shoes."
Another interesting note is that the manager of Sniper's Edge was informed that they now cracked the Top 200 in manager rating in the X11 world. The response was subdued, as the manager said that while this was a fantastic achievement, there were still 200 considered better than they were, and there was still more work to be done.
Up next, Sniper's Edge plays a friendly at home against a strong AC Florentina Viola squad.
