Dream League Cup Champions!
After a thrilling run to the Cup final, which included knocking off the reigning back-to-back Cup champions, Yarmouth Town FC, in the semi-final, South Hooligans have now gone on to claim the trophy thanks to an emphatic 4-1 win over Danubius Galati.

The boys were confident going into the clash and after we saw the line ups and tactics, we felt even better about our chances... however despite controlling all of the possession (67% of the ball!), it was Danubius Galati who took the lead late in the first half against the run of play.

A rollicking at halftime from the boss and the boys came out firing in the second half. Our pressure led to a rash tackle from Danubius Galati midfielder Jordan Hopkins, who was sent straight off. We won't lie - the numerical advantage obviously makes a difference - but with the way the boys were playing and the domination of possession, we felt it was only a matter of time until the goals came anyway.

Our youngest midfielder on the pitch, Jack Theakston, took control of the game and set up Jermaine Frost for our equaliser, before Theakston smashed in a goal himself to make it 2-1 after sixty minutes. From there, there was no looking back. Further goals to Derek Bowling (who replaced Frost due to a serious injury... he'll miss the whole month of November!) and a second from Theakston extended the lead to 4-1 and secured the trophy!

It was a huge historical Dream League clash as Danubius Galati have been around forever - just like us - and have also won past Cup (Season 9) and Dream League (Season 14) titles; so it was an exciting match-up for the historians... and thankfully, this time we came out on top.

It's a great outcome for this current crop of players as there are so many strong Dream League teams marching their way up the divisions at the moment, so realistically we know we may never grab another Dream League title... grabbing one major trophy now at least rewards the hard work of the coaching staff and players on the training track.

We'll now see out the league season by claiming the Division 3c title and promoting to Division 2 for a new challenge... and we'll set ourselves for what is hopefully a decent Change Report before we face stronger teams yet again.

Oh, and just a small thing called the Xpert Champions League...
