Clean sheet streak broken |
After 10 consecutive clean sheets in both cup and league games, and not conceding a goal in over 1 350 minutes, Sigtuna BK's defense was finally outmaneuvered when Lugoj Boys equalized to 1-1 in the 52nd minute of the match in last Thursday's round of 16 match of the Dream League Cup. No more goals were scored during regular time, and the extra time also remained empty of goals and thus the place in the quarter-finals had to be decided via penalty kicks.
Once there, Sigtuna's goalkeeper Samuel Ros stepped up to the occasion and saved two penalties, and took Sigtuna through to the quarter-finals, even scoring one of them himself. After two highly criticized initial seasons in the blue dress, Ros has risen somewhat this season and shown that he actually belongs at this level. Ten clean sheets in 15 games and a 74% save percentage speak for themselves, having increased his saving percentage with nearly 20%.
