This week we were able to achieve a great victory against AFC Ajax (0-5). After last week's performance, we urgently needed this boost on morale to maintain our status as "contender" to a third title in a row.
We have the team and we have the manager to do it, but we also acknowledge that we are past our prime and we have a Xpert Champions League to play and increase the number of injuries and suspensions during the season.
Last season we did awesome under these circumstances, but we were not able to show our true colors on the most prestigious competition of all due to the problems I mentioned before. Let's hope for the best this time around, knowing from the start that our priority is the league over all the rest. We will have time to rebuild again and, with bigger odds and a team running towards its peak, take the challenge of becoming the first manager to win the XCL only with the lads from the youth academy. "That can't be done" many will say, but how many said the same and ended up wrong about the Xpert League?
