The Switch City Kings performed a miracle overnight when they defeated last season's Cup winners Tunantes in their semi final Cup clash. The Kings triumphed 1-0 but will consider themselves very lucky to be advancing to the Final after being totally outplayed.
Tunantes had all the play. They enjoyed 61% of possession, had 9 shots on goal to 2 and missed a penalty early in the game. They will be thinking this was the one that got away. However full credit must be given to the Kings fighting spirit and goalkeeper Tiger Cat.
Kings manager Mr Shephunter was ecstatic following his sides victory. "We really had no right to win that game. Tunantes dominated us and with good reason. With injuries and suspensions we were severely undermanned but I thought we really stood up."
"I have to give credit to our keeper Tiger Cat. He was unreal! He warded off the penalty early in the game and I think that gave him a massive boost in confidence because after that he was a wall. To not allow a single goal from 9 attempts is outrageous. I also have to mention Devis Shakir who put the team first and played despite only being 75% fit."
"We are now in the final and I can't wait.Barring injury in our next league game we'll have a full strength side for the final. We're going to enjoy every minute of this week and hopefully we can bring home the trophy!"
Up the Kings!
