XCL Heartache!

It was 8pm on Wednesday 22nd January 2014. I sat in my livingroom staring at my laptop, clutching on to my panda teddy bear, sporting a handlebar moustache (grown especially for the occasion), wearing a brand new suit and tie, a pair of sandals and some shades.

It was the XCL final and I was up against possibly the strongest side that the game has ever seen. I knew that if I was to somehow win this game then I would have to defend for my life and hope I could sneak it. If I was to go gung ho then they would pick us off and end up slaughtering us.

Sadly it wasn't meant to be and I was beaten on penalties. It's hard to take and I have been depressed for a few days now but I am proud of my team and how we played. The tactics have done the rounds and I think I got it 100% correct. That sensational team failed to create a chance against us in 120 mins. I only created one myself but it was very close to being the winner.

I never expected to even make the last 8 so to come this far and only to lose out on penalties makes me proud. It has been a great campaign where we have played and beaten some great teams and managers. It was an honour to play against and defeat a legend such as GB - that ranks as one of the highlights.

Well done to Svajo and Sparka for entering the Hall of Fame. That man has done an amazing job.
