The Big Fortnight

It is the fixture that was noticed right off the bat. The fixture that caught the attention of every manager in the league. It has reached the mid-way point of double corresponding fixtures and the one that stands out by far is the matches between FC Tanon and Ginger AFC.

The Tanites have been in fine form, winning 5 out of 5 since manager Keithsiah took over and revitalised the club, their latest victim being lowly Bukarest FC (previously known as Atalantab) with the game ending 5-0 to the home side.

But Tanon's chase for league glory faces a stiff challenge from Ginger AFC who besides a slip against IIlha de Retiro a few weeks back, has also been winning games and is only behind the Tanites by 2 points.

Tanon would be hoping their newly assembled strike force of Dunai and Rimmer allied with the playmaking powers of Lohte, Irons, and Pepin would be enough to put the Carrot-Tops to the sword. But Big Murdo also can call upon his own stars in Mihai and Lazarus as well as hoping for a star performance by keeper Burnita.

Tanon manager Keithsiah is already anticipating a mega fortnight, "Of course it is big. Its first vs second 2 weeks in a row. Its going to be an awesome fortnight of football. The lads in training have been pumped up the whole week waiting for it. The other teams would be hoping one or both of us drop points, but we would have to wait and see won't we?"

In other news, FC Tanon hosted a friendly against Division 8:101 side fc rizo which ended 2-0 with the home side dominating possession and goals coming from Gaudet and Diawara. Ginger AFC also played in a friendly away to Hertha Bsc 42 but ended up losing a tight match 2-1.
