Cedric in Injury Horror. |
Rovers' latest 5 - 1 victory, being hailed as their strongest performance to date, has come at a cost as Cedric Carlisle found himself on the receiving end of a vicious Anzo Grajek tackle. Manager Billy111 immediately called for a red card to be shown for the offence which, in his words, could have put the young prospect into "an early grave". However, his anger was to only increase after referee, Ann Onym, produced the yellow.
In a post-match interview, he continued to voice his disappointment, "It's a dreadful shame that an event like this so late in the game can cast a shadow over maybe our best win to date." When asked about Cedric's condition, Billy appeared to be struggling to hold back the tears as he replied, "It's a nasty injury, maybe one which will not only effect the rest of his season, but potentially his career. From here we need to work very closely with him and ensure his recovery is as quick as possible".
Next week would have been a chance for the young midfielder to join the rest his younger team-mates in some valuable match time as they take on tough opponents, Malsprutarna IF. For now, this bright future prospect will have to watch from the sidelines and take courage in the fact he has a committed and loving management team to see him through his darkest hour.
