Denver were relegated today after being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Trambolhos SAD but even a win wouldn't have kept them up. After the match the usually calm, composed post-match pr that Maxy does was replaced by a rant:
"I knew it would be hard this season but I thought we had enough to stay up, I've clearly been proven wrong, but the manner of our failure to win games has become increasingly annoying. So many times this season I felt that we edged the tactics but for some reason we've just been unable to beat anyone other that Revista who'll be going down with us probably. Again today we edged the tactics and had far better teamwork ratings, with pretty even player ratings against a team playing 4-4-2, but still couldn't beat them.
"Even more annoying was the situation with Rangers who had a manager when playing us earlier in the season but were left unmanaged for almost every other game, meaning we lost 3 points on the rest of the league right from the off. What's more their current boss, who's barely been active, was only recently sacked despite being inactive for a month prior to today's game: no doubt they'll have a new boss in place when they play us next week.
"That just added to the frustration but I suppose in the end we just weren't good enough, and our lack of a top class goalie was the biggest factor in our demise. There's plenty of cash in the bank for our push to come straight back up, and at the moment I intend to stay on for at least a couple more seasons. Congrats to Fortuna on the title and probably the cup too, and good luck to 2-Tone in the XCL."
