Boss slams players

United boss blames his players after their 0-1 home loss against old rivals Pyla Village in the first round of the season.

"The players need to step up to the mark. I had a five star tactic rating so I'm doing my job. I can set the team up but at the end of the day, they need to do the job and get the results.They are letting the club down and this is why we got relegated. We lost 0-1 but it could have been two or three with no complaints. To only create one chance at home and playing offensive is pathetic. We also gave them six chances which again is shocking. Our new defender had a shocker which is also frustrating.

We play Tungsten away next week which will be the hardest game of the season. I was hoping to have three points in the bag before playing them but obviously that's out the window. I would normally say a draw would be a good result but we've put pressure on ourselves already so we need to win this or else! If we don't win the title is gone already in my eyes.

We managed to sign another midfielder last night to give us some more options but if the players don't start putting a shift in the season they'll be out the door!"

United travel to title favourites Tungsten next Tuesday.
