Huge (undeserved) rebound
There are some wins you can celebrate. I'm talking about the type of win that makes you do a little victory dance, owing to the fact that you utterly owned someone.
Thre are also wins that, no matter how much you needed them, have no such effect because you know very well that you didn't really deserve them.
After Thursday's Cup fiasco, the Cloggies were in more need of a result than any other team in the Classic League. That is not the best time to be sent to an away game against the strongest team in the division. Even more so when you are a team that consitently fails to get results in away games.
Our brave management decided to shoot for a 0-0 draw. Giving up only 3 chances with the best goalie in the league meant that a 0-0 result was certainly possible. What we did not count on was creating 2 chances ourselves and actually bringing home three points.
The fact remains that we did not dominate the game on chances and the win has to be considered a lucky one. It was more than welcome regardless, as we have to expect to lose a bunch of games due to increased junior rotation. We can have a bit more confidence after today that we avoid the drop to D2 while still having a decent update.
