Players pay penalty for poor performance |
Yohan Fouchet somersaults along his goalkeeping line, ending up hanging by his feet from the crossbar when the penalty is taken. The Stoke player needless to say sends the ball wide of the goal and the penalty is missed.
"Stoke's penalty miss should have sparked us to victory but we couldn't get going, we had one goal attempt the whole game," exasperates manager Tony Brazil, "I'm guilty of underestimating the team sitting bottom of the league, and just glad Fouchet saved everything coming at him as Stoke ran wild.
"Fouchet was our man of the match; which also indicates none of the other Matchsticks turned up on the day, when you'd expect the bottom club to get a roasting. Fair enough a few days later we were blazing in the cup and got through the tricky tie easily, but the outfield players need to learn their lesson about the league."
Brazil indicates to the press they should follow him outside, and on the pitch it is revealed that ten players hang by their feet from the crossbar. Keeper Fouchet is standing at the penalty spot with a big bag of balls, which he proceeds to shoot at the players who respond with squealing discontent.
"It's going to be tough to avoid relegation again, and we can't afford to drop points to the likes of Stoke. Hopefully the players will remember this lesson and from now on make an effort in our league matches," Brazil attaches some rope to his ankles, "my poor tactics were also at fault so I am happy to take my share of the blame."
Brazil hobbles over and ties himself to the crossbar, awaiting his painful fate.
