Perfect record still intact |
Tonbridge Invicta manager Feeltheforse was in jubilant mood after he saw his side confound the odds and beat Ansta BoIS 2-0 after extra time to reach the Round of 16 in the Cup. The win maintained Invicta's 100% record this season, but manager Feeltheforse has warned the club's fans not to get too carried away.
"We've done so well to reach the last 16, but the main focus is promotion, and we're not there yet. At the end of the season we'll have time to reflect and celebrate, but right now we need to keep our heads down and maintain our focus."
With their last two cup games having gone to penalties, everyone was fearing another painful shootout, so it must have come as a blessed relief when young striker Gil Quevedo fed veteran midfielder Brascovici who slotted home the ball into the back of the net. By then Invicta were in total control, but when the Nok finished Scarletto smart cross in the 118th minute, the fans went wild, spilling onto the pitch and delaying the final whistle by five minutes.
Invicta now have every chance of progressing after drawing Strirlingshire from Division 5. However, the teams are evenly matched, and it may come down to who has the better injury and suspension situation.
"We'll give it everything we've got," added Feeltheforse.
"But I wouldn't be surprised if they prove to be our toughest opponents so far. They didn't get this far on luck."
