Lorde strikes down Aponte
Lisboa Hammers club legend Antoni Aponte has left the club this week after a career ending injury in what has proved to be his last game for the club.
Manager Simon Laws was sad to see the midfielder go
"He was a club legend and gave everything for us. He is 32 so nearing the end of his career anyway and suffered a bad injury which would have ruled him out for 3 of the last 4 games. Lorde went out to kick us about and use bully boy tactics but we rode the tackles mostly and luckily got a last minute winner"
"We've always looked to develop so as sad as it is to see Aponte leave he was he wrong side of 30 (32) his form took as disastrous hit with that injury so we'd rather take the £200k for him now then release him for free next year. We will look to strengthen and bring in some youth in a few areas next year and continue looking for promotion"
