Viking South Utsira fell to the bottom of the Division 2b table and to within a hair's breadth of relegation this Tuesday, despite managing a battling 0-0 draw at home to unbeaten leaders Gretna Girls FC, after fielding a largely developmental XI with an eye on next season.

Such is the way the results in the division fell this week, things are technically still up for grabs all over the table. Viking are mathematically still clinging onto a chance of survival, at six points from safety with two games to play, but their ten-goal inferiority to Man City Ladies in 5th means that the Utsirans need to thump City at Ragnar Rock next week and hope a bunch of other results go their way. Gretna remain title favorites, but their lead over Janes Addiction is down to 3 points after the latter edged past The Norfolk Broads by 1-0. That formally ended the latter's faint promotion hopes but leaves them theoretically in relegation danger, five points ahead of Girls Aloud in 6th, whom they play next.

GA could have relegated Viking this week with a win at home to FC Sprezzatura, but a lively 3-2 defeat keeps the Girls in the dropzone and leaves their visitors in with an outside shot of a playoff place, 5 points down on Addiction. Man City could also have relegated both Viking and Championettes with a point at home to the latter, but the mercurial Championettes grabbed a surprise 1-0 win to keep both themselves and VSU alive and MSL in deep danger, just a point ahead of Girls Aloud. Those holding their breath for some definite outcomes in this division will thus have to wait another seven days at least to see some of the issues settled.
