Tight game sees Blues sink to bottom 4

2nd 'half' of Rampage double-header has Blues lose again, in tight game

Earlier in the week, Portsmouth took up the invite of Lordy (Anderslilya) , unbeaten leaders in the neighbouring Div 5:19, for a friendly - on what was now a blank Monday - with both teams having exited the League Cup.

There was a 1v1 draw played out at the monster stadium, though the Blues had the better of the chances (6-2), despite making 5 second-half changes.  Quite a strong side put out by McGarvey, though he did start with youngster Zito Santos in a back five, and with Aristedes Manhente up front.  Ludo Iuliano put the Blues 1v0 up just past the hour, with the hosts making it all square 10 minutes from the end.  A good run-out for the squad, and certainly 'no damage done' to form.

Next up of course was the 'rematch' with Rampage FC at their Bull Pit.  After going down 0v1 at home last week, and feeling somewhat hard done by, McGarvey had told his troops to "stop licking their wounds, and fight for our spot" ahead of the game.  There was an early blow however, with Iuliano being injured after only 5 minutes, and him staying quiet for the rest of the match.

It was that man Rogério Norton (again) - it seems to be him or striker Sven Pawlik who do most of the damage for the Oranges - with McGarvey admitting he'd mark both if he could. Norton it was though, with the only goal of the game after 26 minutes.  After that, it was an even game (2-2 on chances), though the home side had more of the ball as McGarvey's side seemed more set-up to counter.  There was a bunch of subs in the 2nd half, but nothing really budged in the game.

Pompey now look over their shoulders at the relegation spots, with A.C.Milano (their next opponents) winning well over erstwhile leaders (now Rampage) Nik Ziggys Army.
