The premise was pretty bleak for Five Points club The Fifth Column. Only one more game in the season and the team was residing in place six and relegation was almost certainly due.
Sometimes miracles do happen, fortunately. The Fifth Column first needed to win their game; which they did, 2-0, but also was dependent on the result of rival team Myrmidonians. Seeing that they played at home against Crazyfists (who had nothing left to play for besides development) chances were still slim. Yet somehow Crazyfists kept the scoreline to 0-0 with 5-0 chances against them.
" We had a very difficult and in many aspects rather unfortunate season. Results went against us were we possible deserved a tad more. Lady luck smiled on us in this last round though and we are over the moon staying in division two. The change report was just so so, yet we have a strong team and hope to do better in this episode of Powerleague football. Firstly we are enjoying our vacation on our yearly trip to the cozy island that is Alcatraz and preparing for next season with some fun games against my brother's outfit Norax FC who are really building up to be an extreme force."
What is a returning problem for the club is the recurring lack of funds within the wallet. Financial director Jenny Everdean urged manager Woodstock to put some players on the transfer market, more so seeing the gigantic 22 player squad at his disposal. He reluctantly did so maybe the wallet gets a nice boost.
In further news, The Fifth Column tries to pay their contributions to the X11 league organization but somehow can only transfer funds in a, for now, nonexistent method.
"It's frigging insane. Do we need to send them baskets of Bill Butchers fresh-cut pig heads in carton boxes through a shady dark web transaction? You would think funding the beautiful game of football and wits would be the fundamental structure of the fun and enjoyment we seek. But whatever..."
