Play Off Success

I must say, this season has been very enjoyable from the stand point that Real Roo pushed my Penguins the whole season to keep up with them and, although we ultimately fell short in the end in the league, that competition made the chase an entertaining one. Congratulations to Kangar and Real Roo on gaining automatic promotion, you deserved it. This then meant, that my Penguins faced a direct shoot out for the opportunity to reach Division 3 next season.

In the play off game we where drawn against The Emerald Isle Engine, a team that somehow managed to finish 2nd in their league despite being the least strongest team in that division on paper, which means they have a decent manager in charge of them and I knew my Penguins would be facing a stern challenge.

The game started and we were on the back foot from the first whistle then fell behind in the 14th minute and the writing looked on the wall until their GK was injured and couldn't carry on playing. Then the pendulum swung and the game seemed to change in my favour as we looked more dominant and in the end ran out 3-1 winners, much to my delight.

What this means now is that we can now look forward to Division 3 next season and the challenges that competing in that league will bring. I'm looking forward to seeing who we will be facing next season now and I just hope we can do ourselves justice and be competitive!
