Manager: Gmswjambo
Royal escape
In an unusual move, Gmswjambo and Mrs Trellis have issued a midweek PR. This is mainly due to Sons of Apollo completing their late surge up the table to escape relegation by a baw hair.

It also gave Mrs Trellis an excuse to pass comment on the latest media shenanigans by the Palace. Not Crystal Palace, that'd be fine, but no, Buckingham Palace. The Death Star, Hades, Easter Road - call it what you will. She wrote on her blog, "Well, wouldn't you know it, an archaic, homogenous, elitist institution is exactly that. Is anyone surprised? Maybe there's something to be said for the French approach to a monarchy..."

And so to Sons of Apollo. Going into last night's fixtures, it was known that anything other than a win at Rubarth would be useless, plus Monsters Co. had to lose to London. Come half time, things were already looking up: a Ralcewicz penalty and a Morton freekick had Gmswjambo's side 2 to the good at the break. Meanwhile, London FC were doing Sons a favour, a goal up after Dan-Åke Danell powered in a direct freekick - although Gmswjambo's heart had skipped a beat when Palmquist scored in the ninth, only for relief to set in as ref Seymour Red chopped it off.

Dinjar doubled London's advantage not long after the break and Crãiasa ensured a celebratory atmosphere for the remaining 10 minutes or so after he added Sons' third. Only the capital side bettered Sons' performance over the final five matches, 13 points to Son's 9 out 15 but, sadly for them, they were to finish a point off the play-off pace.

As for Sons, 18 points was enough by two to stay in the third tier for at least another season, however with further rebuilding in the offing it's unlikely that Gmswjambo will be able to stave off sliding down another tier much longer. Fans can expect at least one veteran and perhaps a youth heading out after the CR, which promises to be interesting with 3 +9s and 2 +8s amongst the teenage members' DV.

Commiserations to Monsters who head down to Division 3 - if you don't bounce back we'll maybe see you in Season 64. Also to Bernies Weekend, who slipped from top to fourth on the final day - don't worry, our survival means you'll have 6 point in the bag next season.

Well done to Màlaga for bouncing back from the Week 13 defeat ;-) to top the table on goals scored, and to FC Hundarna who, despite dropping four points against Sons, managed to make the play offs with a staggeringly good performance on the final day - we'll be rooting for you tomorrow.
