Cup success, but a HUGE loss!
.....
Crimson Star overcame a determined effort from Division 2 opponents Castres Olympique in yesterday's crucial semifinal Cup clash, to sneak in a 1-0 win thanks to Iulian Potocianu's strike in the third minute of extra time.

But the result came with a major setback as beleaguered midfielder Mathew Nightingale was stretchered off in the 60th minute for what looks like an approximate three week recovery on the treatment table.

To add insult to injury (pun intended), a further yellow card to top striker Rodrigo Mellone puts a major stretch on Monday's League clash with Zacgold FC, but thankfully he will be available for the Cup Final next Friday.

One further problem remains on Monday with just 12 players available for selection, and remaining striker Phil Hacker and top defender Alexander Patriksson sitting on yellow cards, Manager LFC73's hand will be forced to play Hacker whilst trying to project Patriksson ahead of the all important Cup Final.

"I'd love to have the option of two available forwards for the final," he sad. "But if Hacker picks up another yellow on Monday - and that could be on the cards with an H3 Ref - then my options for the final will indeed be limited.

"It is what it is, and this is the price you pay for having such a limited squad, so we'll just have to take things on the chin and try and play with the cards we've been dealt."
