| Bigger than the big boys |
Last season we fought in division 1a against the mighty FC Modo and Coven United, and finished second after losing out on the top spot in the 92nd minute in the last game against FC Modo. The only league loss that season came against Bollissimo BK, an old arch-rival who is undergoing a generational shift, were we managed to concede four of the five goals for the entire league season (with the fifth coming in the 92nd minute against FC Modo). It still remains the most disastrous performance in the history of the club.
In the qualification game, we fought against FC U Craiova 1948, and barely secured promotion with a 1-0 victory over them, despite being completely dominant on paper.
Up we went to the top division, where we finally got to play against the big boys. How did it go? We can proudly say that we have never lost a single game in the top division. The season ended with 32 points (9-5-0) in 14 games, and a goal difference of 23-4. It was a truly marvelous season, and we have finally established the club at the highest of levels.
We are now looking forward to the next season. The initial focus will be on the league and the cup, but we are also greatly looking forward to the Xpert Champions League which begins later in the season. It will be interesting to see how we will be able to balance three competitions at the same time; three competitions that we aim to win.
In the immediate future, we will play friendly games against Nordahl United and (hopefully) Bollissimo BK. It is two clubs that we have a long history with, and are very happy about playing friendlies against during the down-season. We do sincerely wish for them to be successful in the league, and we hope that we will one day face off against them in the top divison. Time is ticking Nordahl, start the climb.
