One more shot
Borgis FC were back in training today after a few days' rest on the back of a gruelling season 68. There were lots of smiling faces from the players despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the possible squad reset button being pressed by manager Adam Moran. Soon after training, Moran ushered into the press room for an urgent announcement.

"I appreciate there is speculation surrounding my thoughts and possible decisions on the team after another season in the top-flight. I also appreciate I caused this very speculation after speaking ahead of season 68 to say that it could be the last for this group of players.

"After careful consideration, I have decided NOT to initiate a rebuild at this time and give it one more crack with the lads. When I started this current adventure back in June 2019, I decided that I would stick it out until the end and see where we end up. I nearly gave that up last season given how strong Tour de France were and the inevitability that they would win the league again. But I felt that maybe we could win the Cup instead. Sadly, that wasn't to be. The team is now another year older. Our greatest ever player Rasmus Bjørstad is 31 and the rest are not that far behind him.

"And yet, despite our average age set to cause us lots of trouble, I just simply can't let go. I know now is the best time to pull the trigger.but I just can't. Maybe it's because the thought of starting again fills me with dread. Maybe it's because of some silly loyalty to the players. But I can't end this journey yet. Let's have one more roll of the dice!"

Borgis FC finished 2nd in the Xtreme League last season with 27 points, one more than the season before. This time around they were only four points behind Tour de France and will be hoping to close the gap once more.

It wasn't all doom and gloom for Borgis. Eddie Bowyer got the league's most assists, Ernst Ljungvik was the league's top goal scorer and Adam Moran was awarded Manager of the Season. Can season 69 finally deliver some actual silverware for the Borgis faithful?
