Overhaul complete

Borgis FC manager Adam Moran says the club has now completed its squad overhaul with a total of ten players being sold. The departures brought in around 45 million econ with 28 million econ going straight back out the door on signings.

Moran spoke openly about the situation earlier today.

"It's been tough to be honest. It's something that I didn't really want to do. I would have loved to have tried to keep going at TdF but they got significantly stronger and we simply had no money in the pot. Not acting now would have set us back even longer. It was a real shame, especially with the fact that we will finally play in the XCL. Although it doesn't really feel earned getting in there simply as Cup finalists. But it would have been a dream to see how far we could have gone and played against some top teams.

"But now we must focus on the future. It's another long road ahead and hopefully me and the game are still here in a few years!

"As for how well things have gone, I was very frustrated at the transfer market. It's so difficult to manage now. I've let some players go a lot lower than hoped or anticipated, but bids were not coming and I didn't want to risk players deciding they wanted to retire here, which is what happened with Pista and Angelo. And then I've had to fork out loads on some players who really aren't worth it. But there was a little desperation on my part. If we really want to compete I will probably have to develop these kids, sell on to make some profit and then buy stronger youths again.

"All in all, we've got a long way to go. It's frustrating in the moment but I reckon I'll start to enjoy it once we start to see some results. Fingers crossed!"
