Lifeless draw in a lifeless matchup |
Snipers Edge 0 - 0 Cowboys FC
In a somewhat uneventful match, the squad from Sniper's Edge found themselves frustrated after a nil-nil draw against Cowboys FC in their latest league matchup. With a notoriously dictatorial referee, both squads seemed to go into the game with little to no drive to make anything happen. The match went full time with neither squad showing much life or aggression as to not draw the ire of the officiating crew known for throwing cards around like it were a holiday party.
With only 5 shots on goal combined between the squads, both keepers found themselves finishing with a clean slate, and only one card shown against the Cowboys. Sniper's Edge went back into the locker room after full time frustrated that they let a key match left points on the table at home.
"Home matches are absolutely key when it comes to solidifying enough of a point cushion to buffer any away match mishaps."
The manager of Sniper's Edge addressed the press after the game.
"So far, we have had two home matches in the new season, and both have ended in a draw. While yes it's certainly better than a loss, this is now 4 points left on the table that I feel we could have gotten. Full credit to our opponents. They came into this one with a gameplan, and their defense and keeper put on one heck of a showing absolutely stifling our offense.
"But I feel that we are a better team than what we have shown thus far. We knew the officiating crew were stingy, but that's no excuse for the performance we put on today. We need more life in our offense. It's as simple as that."
Up next, Sniper's Edge heads away from home in the first leg of the 2nd round of the Cup tourney against Fuso FC.
