The new transfer system

Xpert Eleven is about to get a new transfer system that will work the same for all leagues. The looks of the transfer system will be very much the same as it is today but there will be quite a few changes.

You have received hints about this before and we have been working the transfer system for about a year. The reason it has taken this long is because we have tried to cover all aspects and make sure this change will work fine for everyone. We will surely make some adjustment to the transfer system in the future too. But the main foundation of the transfer system and the fact that the transfer systems engine should be powered by the managers on the site will not be changed.

We will now list the main changes that will come when we apply this transfer system.

Values of the players will be based on transfer statistics
A player’s value will be based on statistics derived from sales of similar players sold during the previous 3 months.

The players won't end their career if transferlisted
Today the players can decide to end their career when you click on the Sell button to transfer list the player. This will not happen in the new transfer system. But the player may instead decide that he wants to end his career in the current club. This means that the player won't end his football career at the end of the season but he doesn't want to change clubs. He will play in your club as long as you want him, but you won't be able to sell him. The player might still decide to retire in the future though, but it won't be related to whether you have tried to sell him or not.

Tip-offs will replace the player offers received in the mailbox
Instead of getting players offered to you from agents in the mailbox you will receive tip-offs about players on the transfer market that has a skill that is at least as high as the agent states. This means that you won't need to evaluate these players. There are no other advantages with these tip-offs. These tip-offs will basically work as advertisements for players on the transfer market. The choice of goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards on the team settings page used for player offers today will be used for these tip-offs instead.

The player's average form will count when sold
When a player is transfer listed his/her average form will count and the player will get a skill update when he changes club if the player's average form is based on at least 8 form notations. This means that the player will be shown on the transfer market with his current skill, but when evaluated the player's coming skill (the skill will have in the new club) will be shown.

This will mean that you won't be fooled by the agents as much as before and it will be more pleasant surprises on the transfer market. On the simulated transfer system about one third of all players on the transfer market were over-estimated by the agent and only about 10% were under-estimated. Based on stats on the market transfer system where the average form of players on sale already counts we can see that about 10% of the players are overestimated by the agents and also about 10% of the players are underestimated by the agents. In other words the worst agents will in fact be your friends more often.

The cost of evaluations will be a fixed amount
The cost of evaluations will instead of depending on the value of the player be a fixed amount. All evaluations will cost 250 000 econ no matter the asking price of the player.

The number of possible evaluations per team will be limited
Today the only limit of the number of evaluations you can do is the available funds of the club. This will change so that a team only can have 8 current evaluations. This means that if you have evaluated 8 players that are on the transfer market at the moment you won't be able to evaluate more players until the players you evaluated no longer are on the transfer market. The reason behind this limitation is to prevent destructive behaviours. But having the possibility to evaluate 8 players on the transfer market will probably not be noticeable for most managers.

Talented players will be added to the transfer market
To support the transfer market and make sure that there will be a supply of talented and high skilled players, the system will add talented players from teams that have been removed from the league systems or teams that belonged to a league that has been closed down. These players will be put on the transfer market with asking prices that are little higher than average amount for equally skilled players on the transfer market so that these players won't effect the prices on the transfer market more than necessary. The supply of these players will also be adjusted to not being more than necessary. Ultimately we shouldn't need this supply but to support the transfer market it will probably be necessary at least initially.

Talents from the youth team more often
The frequency of the offers in the mailbox to pick up a talent from the youth team will be increased. Instead of being guaranteed to get a talent within 42 days, you will be guaranteed to get a player within 30 days.

History of players will be kept when possible
The history of the players bought on the transfer market in our official league systems (The Xpert Leagues and The Xpert Ladies) will be kept and shown on the player's page. Also if the player has been bought through direct transfer in a private leagues the player will keep its history. You will then be able to see which club/clubs the player belonged to before his current club. We will also be able to show his earlier statistics for the old clubs.

When it comes to players bought through the transfer market in private leagues the players will never be able to have a history due to the possibility to personalize your teams and no control of the league admins. When a player is sold on the transfer market he will be renamed and is therefore considered as a new player.

Transfer window closes in the end of the season
When there is less than 2 weeks left of the season in a league the transfer window will be closed for that specific league. The transfer window will be opened again after the season update has been done. During the time when the transfer window is closed no player in that league will be put on the transfer list and no team in the league will be able to place bids. Players already on the transfer list and already placed bids on players on the transfer market will not be affected.

One month in the current club before being sellable
A player needs to have been in the current club for at least one month before he is possible to put on the transfer market. Original players in newly created teams will not be affected this and will be considered to have been in the current club for more than a month. Talents from the youth team will be considered as original players and will not be affected by this rule.

Implementation
Some of the changes are already in use partly or to the full extent in the leagues using the market transfer today. Some of the changes will be implemented within a week or so without any further announcement. For example, this will be done with the new player values as we don't want to create a situation where everyone will check their player’s new values at the same time. The new player values will actually be a little higher than their current values on most of the players.

The final implementation date will be Monday the 25th of June. From this date and on all transfer activity will be on the new transfer and the old transfer systems will be dismantled. All players not sold up to this point in the simulated transfer system will be removed from the transfer list and if you still want to sell the player you will have to put the player for sale again and the player will then be placed on the transfer market in the new transfer system. This will of course mean that the transfer market won't be full of players the first day. But it will surely be filled within a couple of days.
